2006 Conferences

We have been appointed to managed the following conferences.

Choice Home Loans Annual Conferences, 2003 - 2007

A three day conference of 200 + in-house and independent mortgage brokers, rotating between Australian and New Zealand locations – Melbourne 2003, Gold Coast 2004, Christchurch, NZ, 2005, Sunshine Coast, Queensland 2006. Program includes plenary and breakout sessions, a major social component; and small exhibition. Leishman Associates have been appointed to manage the Conference for a three year period to 2007.

Tasmanian Principals Conference, 2005, 2006

The inaugural statewide conference of the newly combined associations, the event focussed on the issues relating to management and leadership within education in Tasmania. The inaugural conference in Hobart attracted 220 delegates. Leishman Associates have been reappointed to manage the 2006 conference.

Tertiary Education Management Conference, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008

Combining three associations, the 2004 event was a four day conference in Hobart with up to 10 concurrent sessions, attracting 650 delegates, 20 exhibitors, and a number of off-site social activities plus the conference also included pre and post activities. Leishman Associates have been appointed to manage the Conference for 2006, 2007 and 2008 after a nationwide tender process.

Australian National Committee of Large Dams (ANCOLD), 2003 - 2006

Organised by the prime body within the dams industry, the conference attracts 200 + delegates to locations throughout Australia. Leishman Associates managed the 2003 and 2004 events in Hobart and Melbourne respectively, and have now been appointed as conference managers to 2006. The technical conference is held over two days, and includes plenary technical sessions, technical workshop day and trade exhibition plus a pre and post conference touring program.

The Master Builders State Conference, 2005, 2006

A local event for building and construction delegates, the program is be based on plenary and breakout sessions. Also included is a social program and trade exhibition. The 2005 and 2006 conferences are held in Launceston.

Defence Health & Australian Military Medicine Conference, 2006

A joint conference between the Australian Defence Force and AMMA, focusing on issues relating to health. The conference will attract 600+ delegates, a trade exhibition for 30+ exhibitors, and two social activities. It is anticipated that there will be over 200 abstracts received.

SCAR / COMNAP 2006

A major undertaking by the Australian Antarctic Division, Leishman Associates were appointed after an exhaustive national tender. Spanning 12 days, this international conference will attract 800+ delegates from around the world, it will be combined with a trade exhibition for 50+ exhibitors, and include 6 separate social activities.

Institute of Brewing & Distilling Convention, 2006

The major conference for this industry, the conference held in Hobart attracting 400 + delegates from Australia and overseas. The technical program runs for five days and includes plenary sessions and an extensive social program, pre and post-touring program and trade exhibition.

Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners, 2006

An inaugural statewide conference for General Practitioners and Practice Managers which should attract 100 delegates.

Pathways8, 2006

Managed in conjunction with the Disability Services Unit at the University of Tasmania this conference will attract 200 professionals from around Australia, and has attracted high calibre speakers.

Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine, 2005, 2006, 2007

Appointed following a nationwide tender process, the 2005 conference was held on the Gold Coast and attracted record numbers. Leishman Associates were reappointed for a two year period to manage the 2006 and 2007 conferences

Australian Military Medicine Conference, 1996 - 2006

Held annually and managed by Leishman Associates since 1996, this conference attracts 150 defence medical practitioners and specialists together with other health practitioners with an interest in military medicine. Conference locations have included Sydney, Tasmania, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Canberra.

Australasian Radiation Protection Society National Conference, 2003 & 2005, 2006, 2007

Managed by Leishman Associates in 2003 in Hobart, and then invited back to manage the 2005 conference in Melbourne, and then appointed for another two years through till 2007. This conference attracts 100 national and international delegates, and features two international speakers. Includes a trade component and social program.

Tracks & Trails Conference Fourth National Conference, 2006

Focusing on the issues relating to maintaining and managing tracks and trails, this conference, based in Hobart will attract over 300 delegates from Australian cities to Tasmania.

BIG4 Holiday Parks 2005, 2006

Appointed with a very short lead time, this conference consisted of a three day program, major social functions on three days, optional activities during the conference. It attracted partners and featured a Kids Club.

Australasian Curriculum Assessment & Certification Authorities (ACACA) National Conference – 2006

A two day conference for national agencies association with Curriculum Assessment in Australia. The conference includes plenary and concurrent sessions, and a small social program.

Association of Heads of Australian University Colleges & Halls Incorporated - 2006

Hosted by the University of Tasmania, AHAUCHI delegates will spend 4 days in Hobart. A combination of plenary, concurrent and social activities, attracting 100 + delegates.

12th Hydro Power Engineering Exchange – 2006

Being managed in conjunction with Hydro Tasmania, Australia’s largest supplier of renewable energy. Delegates will visit Tasmania for an inspiring and educational week full of knowledge, learning, fun and a uniquely Tasmanian experience.  The conference will take place in a number of locations around Tasmania and is expected to attract 100+ delegates from Australia and New Zealand.
