Choice Home Loans Annual Conferences, 2003 - 2007
A three day conference of 200 + in-house and independent mortgage brokers, rotating between Australian and New Zealand locations – Melbourne 2003, Gold Coast 2004, Christchurch, NZ, 2005, Sunshine Coast, Queensland 2006. Program includes plenary and breakout sessions, a major social component; and small exhibition. Leishman Associates have been appointed to manage the Conference for a three year period to 2007.
Tertiary Education Management Conference, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008Combining three associations, the 2004 event was a four day conference in Hobart with up to 10 concurrent sessions, attracting 650 delegates, 20 exhibitors, and a number of off-site social activities plus the conference also included pre and post activities. Leishman Associates have been appointed to manage the Conference for 2006, 2007 and 2008 after a nationwide tender process.
Vetnetwork Australia Conference, 2004Aimed at educators and practitioners of Vocational Education. 2 ½ days of conference in Hobart, with up to 12 breakout sessions, and 6 major plenary sessions. 750 delegates, plus a trade exhibition of 20 exhibitors. Offsite social program.
Colonialism and Its Aftermath – an Interdisciplinary Conference, 2004
Conducted at the University of Tasmania, Hobart campus, a three day conference for academics, authors and students, including plenary and breakout sessions. Attracted 130 delegates.
Island Journeys – a Quest for Inspiration, 2003
Joint biennial national conference of the CBCA (Childrenʼs Book Council of Australia) and ASLA (Australian School Library Association). Leading international presenters from the library world as well as first class international and national authors and illustrators of childrenʼs literature underpinned the invigorating professional program designed for delegates. Conducted over four days, including 13 concurrent sessions, 6 international keynote presenters, 3 major social activities, the conference, in Hobart, was attended by 760 national and international delegates.
Sexuality Educators Conference
Conducted by the Family Planning Association, this conference was aimed at educators and practitioners in the health and education industries. 250 delegates enjoyed three days of conference.
Australian National Committee of Large Dams (ANCOLD), 2003 - 2006Organised by the prime body within the dams industry, the conference attracts 200 + delegates to locations throughout Australia. Leishman Associates managed the 2003 and 2004 events in Hobart and Melbourne respectively, and have now been appointed as conference managers to 2006. The technical conference is held over two days, and includes plenary technical sessions, technical workshop day and trade exhibition plus a pre and post conference touring program.
Australian Military Medicine Conference, 1996 - 2006Held annually and managed by Leishman Associates since 1996, this conference attracts 150 defence medical practitioners and specialists together with other health practitioners with an interest in military medicine. Conference locations have included Sydney, Tasmania, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Canberra.
Australasian Radiation Protection Society National Conference, 2003 & 2005, 2006, 2007Managed by Leishman Associates in 2003 in Hobart, and then invited back to manage the 2005 conference in Melbourne, and then appointed for another two years through till 2007. This conference attracts 100 national and international delegates, and features two international speakers. Includes a trade component and social program.
Cooperation out of Conflict, 2004Conducted by the Anti-Discrimination Commission of Tasmania. Attracting 150 delegates, a three day conference in Hobart featuring plenary and workshop sessions. Substantial overseas participation, including five overseas speakers.
Australasian College of Tropical Medicine, 2003A conference held for scientists and health practitioners with a special interest in Tropical Medicine. Conducted over two days at the University of Melbourne.
Australia & New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine, 2001 & 2002The major conference for this association, the 2001 and 2002 conferences were in Hobart and Cairns. Conference program included plenary and breakout sessions; call for papers, and a significant social program. Attracted 500+ delegates.
Society of Hospital Pharmacists, 2001A major pharmaceutical conference conducted in Hobart, and attracting 800 delegates. Held over 6 days, the conference included plenary and breakout sessions, full social program, special interest groups and committee meetings.
Australia ICOMOS National Conference – Loving it to Death, 2004Conducted on behalf of Australia ICOMOS and the Port Arthur Historic Site, this conference was held at Port Arthur in November 2004. The unique venue and conference theme attracted 170 delegates from throughout Australia and overseas.
Regional Tourism Convention, 2003A three day conference in Hobart for practitioners from government, local council and the tourism industry. Program included offsite tours, gala dinner, plenary and breakout sessions.
World Tourism Convention, 2001A major international conference in Hobart attracting 500 delegates to a packed three day program featuring international and national keynote presentations. The convention coincided with the Australian Tourism Awards which attracted 900 guests.
